Hyundai Motor Group partners with NVIDIA to leverage AI and digital twin technologies for enhanced vehicle safety, manufacturing efficiency, and innovative robotics.
Hyundai Motor Group is forging a partnership with NVIDIA to enhance its mobility solutions through advanced AI and digital twin technologies. This collaboration was announced at the CES trade show in Las Vegas, highlighting Hyundai’s commitment to innovation in smart mobility.
The partnership aims to integrate NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, generative AI, digital twins, and physical AI technologies into Hyundai’s mobility offerings. The automotive giant plans to incorporate these technologies across its range of products, including software-defined vehicles, robotics, and optimized manufacturing processes.
Heung-Soo Kim, executive vice president and head of the global strategy office at Hyundai Motor Group, emphasized the transformative potential of AI in areas such as robotics, autonomous driving, and smart factory operations. The collaboration is expected to accelerate Hyundai’s progress in AI-driven mobility innovation.
Hyundai will utilize the NVIDIA Omniverse platform running on NVIDIA OVX systems to create a digital thread across its existing software tools. This will facilitate accurate product design and prototyping in a digital twin environment, boosting engineering efficiencies and reducing costs.
Furthermore, Hyundai and NVIDIA will develop simulated environments for autonomous driving systems, ensuring safe testing of self-driving technology under various conditions. These simulations will aid in the validation of self-driving applications, contributing to the secure deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs).
Digital twins will also be employed to optimize Hyundai’s manufacturing lines, improving production quality and streamlining costs. The company plans to build and train industrial robots using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, enhancing the safety and efficiency of factory operations.
NVIDIA’s AI tools and libraries will support Hyundai in advancing robotics intelligence, facilitating industrial robot training in virtual environments. This will optimize manufacturing processes and improve interaction between robots and their real-world surroundings.
The partnership between Hyundai and NVIDIA underscores a shared vision of creating safer, more intelligent vehicles and enhancing manufacturing through cutting-edge robotics. The collaboration was formalized during a signing ceremony at CES.
